Costain ranked 8th out of the top 100 global civil engineering practices and received two awards at the New Civil Engineer 100 Companies of the Year Awards 2016.The NCE100 is a new awards scheme designed to find, assess, recognise and showcase outstanding civil engineering contractors and consultants operating in the global market. Costain was awarded the Talent Champion Award and the Technical Excellence Award.
We were awarded with three prestigious awards at the Highways Magazine Excellence Awards 2016. We won the Major Project and the Best use of New Technology awards for our A160 Port of Immingham improvement project and Dartford Safety Cell, respectively .
We received the highest-level achievement award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) which recognises organisations who have achieved an exemplary record of 25 plus years of consecutive RoSPA gold awards. Costain won 12 awards at this year's ROSPA.
Costain Group PLC is a Platinum Big Tick company. We have been listed in Business in the Community’s annual Corporate Responsibility Index (CR Index). The CR Index helps businesses to assess how successfully they are integrating responsible business practice into their operations by assessing factors ranging from a company’s culture and values to its environmental impact and transparency over pay policies. Costain achieved a score of 93%, which means it has 3.5 stars.
We won 30 RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) awards in 2015 including two Order of Distinctions, RoSPA’s highest accolade presented to organisations that have received a minimum of 15 consecutive Gold awards, and five Gold medals, awards presented to organisations that have achieved a minimum of five consecutive Gold awards.
Costain is one of the best known and most admired brands in the country….and that’s official. The UK’s Most Admired Companies league table for 2014 has just been published and Costain has moved to 52nd place from last year’s 55th ahead of such well known names as Royal Dutch Shell, Legal and General, J Sainsbury, Banco Santander, London Stock Exchange, Vodafone, Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Serco and Rio Tinto.
Costain received two major awards at the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Awards 2015. Costain won the Industry Project of the Year for Perenco’s Dimlington Terminal Freon Replacement Project. Stuart Campbell, a Project Director who joined Costain as a graduate, won Industry Leader of the Year, while Costain, together with Tetronics International, were Highly Commended for their work on Plasma Vitrification in both the Energy Project and Research Project of the Year Awards. The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is the global professional organisation for people with relevant experience or an interest in chemical engineering.
In 2014 we picked up no fewer than 17 awards as our project teams up and down the country went about creating or improving the built environment while minimising inconvenience and disruption to local residents and facility users. Our efforts to improve the industry’s image were rewarded with seven Gold, three Silver and seven Bronze awards.
